Target celebrates remodelling milestone and keeps on rolling

Minneapolis – Target has reached a critical landmark in its store fleet makeover program.

The discounter has passed the midpoint for remodeling its nearly 2,000-unit portfolio of stores. The company has reported a comp boost of 2% to 4% during the first year post-remodel as well as increased loyalty from local shoppers.

This year it upping the ante on remodels with its most aggressive schedule to date. The company is undertaking nearly 200 complete store remodels throughout 2022.

In addition to the renovations, Target has added shop-in-shop experiences like Ulta Beauty, Disney and Apple as well as Starbucks to select stores across the chain.

To support the rising use of same-day services, is adding extra space for fulfillment. And at nearly 200 select stores, it is installing drive-up canopies for curbside pickup.
